This year, December 5-7, 2008 at the Fairplex-LA County Fairgrounds , the show has selected the AT&T Pioneers as the official volunteer organization to benefit from a portion of the proceeds from shopping bag sales and all of the parcel check revenue. Handmade holiday stockings will be provided by exhibitors and Harvest Festival staff. A contest will be held for the best stocking, with Harvest Festival making a $200 donation to AT&T Pioneers in the name of the winner. The winner will be determined by votes dropped into a drawing box. Attendees can "donate" goodies to fill the stockings, and any of those donations will be accepted at the bag booth or parcel check. The AT&T Pioneers are part of the TelecomPioneers, the world’s largest public charity comprised of industry related volunteers. Founded in 1911, the AT&T Pioneers work to improve the quality of life in their surrounding communities. The organization participates in literacy programs, disaster relief, environmental preservation, and many other community causes.
