The San Jose Harvest Festival Partners Once Again With Humane Society Silicon Valley

(San Jose, CA May 2008) – The San Jose Harvest Festival and the Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) are teaming up once again this year to bring you America’s favorite artisans and crafters to kick off “Black Friday” and the Thanksgiving weekend shopping spree, at the San Jose Convention Center November 28-30.  Attendees will have the chance to support the HSSV  with the purchase of a Harvest Festival shopping bag—just one dollar— or when utilizing the Charity’s parcel check area, a perfect way to keep all your purchases together as you peruse the thousands of unique arts, crafts and gourmet foods

Established in 1929, HSSV has been serving people and pets for 79 years, and has made adoption into permanent, loving homes possible for more than half a million animals.  HSSV operates an open door shelter that accepts all incoming animals, regardless of their health, temperament and age, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The mission of the HSSV is to save and enhance lives, and the organization’s vision is to end unnecessary euthanasia of animals in the Bay Area and beyond.

"Humane Society Silicon Valley is very pleased to be invited back to the San Jose Harvest Festival again this year,” said Laura Fulda, vice president, marketing & communications for Humane Society Silicon Valley. “This partnership will help raise awareness and funds for Humane Society Silicon Valley and our life-saving work for animals. The Harvest Festival's unique arts and crafts and Humane Society Silicon Valley's wonderful adoptable animals both bring joy into homes at the holidays and throughout the year."

The HSSV will receive half of all the proceeds from the Bag sales and all the proceeds collected from the Parcel Check. This is a wonderful way for shoppers to give back to this renowned charity during the Holiday season.

The Harvest Festival was recently acquired by Western Exhibitors, a small, family-owned company that has produced gift and home furnishing trade shows on the West Coast for more than 65 years.  Under their new management, the Harvest Festival has returned to its roots by offering a variety of entertainment and good old family fun.  Designed to provide guests with the ability to purchase personalized gifts for themselves or their family and friends, the Harvest Festival is a delightful shopping experience for the whole family.

Start your holiday shopping by attending the San Jose Harvest Festival with more than 24,000 artisans showcasing a plethora of specialty items that offers something for everyone on your shopping list.
